Gerry Russell was born and grew up in Devon. Gerry rode as a professional steeplechase jockey until coming to the United States in 1967 to set up a Kentucky Horse Farm. He has owned and trained many good horses, including So Vague, who he bought and raced for an Austalian syndicate. So Vague is the only Australian owned horse to race in the Kentucky Derby.
Gerry has also owned his own travel company for over 35 years, conducting many tours to England, Europe and Israel, as well as many to the US from around the world. His wife Linda works with him and has taken a number of tours to England.
All Thoroughbred Tours are tailored to take in a mix of lesser known beautiful historic spots, historic yet modern hotels and country pubs, along with places whose names are familiar to everyone. The tours are designed for a more leisurely pace than most package tours.
